Light output mode
Olight I5T has only 2 output modes:
l Low – Output Mode: Brightness up to 15 lumens, Runtime: 5% (20 hours)
l High – Output Mode: Brightness up to 300 lumens, Runtime: 100% (3 minutes) -> 50% (25 minutes) -> 10% (122 minutes)
Operation
It has a tail button switch, which can complete 3 operations of tactical lighting, constant lighting, and quick shifting of gears (15/300 lumens). Lightly press (half-press, don't press down completely) the rear button switch, and the flashlight will turn on the momentary mode (releasing it will turn off), and the default low gear.
Press lightly again, and it will switch to high light mode. If you keep half-press, the flashlight will keep switching between high and low gear. You can switch gears back and forth freely within 2 seconds of the last button, that is to say after you turn on the flashlight, you have 2 seconds to select the high mode. After 2 seconds, the light will return to the low gear again.
To be honest, take the time to study it, SIMPLE BUT SPECIAL. Fully pressing the tail switch will turn on constant mode, which defaults to low gear. To switch to high gear, first fully depress the tail switch to turn off the flashlight. Then half-press the tail switch, then press it again, switch to high gear, and press the switch fully. It should be noted that once a mode is selected and the switch is fully pressed, the flashlight must be switched off before switching gears.

Battery Compatibility

The Olight i5T small EDC flashlight comes with a GMCELL AA alkaline battery. When Olight released the product, someone asked whether the i5T supports a 3.6V 14500 lithium-ion battery? Olight confirmed with the engineer on the spot: it can indeed support 14500 lithium-ion batteries, but the output effect is not so good. The supported battery effect is similar to 1.5v AA alkaline batteries and AA NiMH rechargeable batteries.
According to the actual test of some O-fans, after changing the 14500 lithium-ion battery, it is brighter, and the lumens are about 600. It is not impossible to use 14500 lithium-ion, but Olight does not recommend this use!
Mainly for the following 3 reasons:
1. It’s not good for the life of the battery and the flashlight itself.
2. When using a 14500 battery, there is only one gear.
3. Heat is an issue. The flashlight can get very hot when using a 14500 battery.
In addition, Olight also emphasized that if the power of the flashlight's own battery drops below 1.2V, it cannot switch to the 300-lumen high-brightness gear, which means that it cannot be switched to the high-brightness mode in the low-power mode.
Actual lighting effect test
