When it comes to flashlights with long range throw, Olight has a great variety of options. At the top of the list is the insanely long Javelot Turbo, with a beam distance of 4,265ft and a very impressive 1,300 lumens. Other impressive throwers in the Olight line-up include the Warrior X Turbo and the Marauder 2. However, none of these could be considered an every-day-carry style of light due their bulky size. The recently released Valkyrie Turbo weapon mounted light, which brings LEP technology to your mid to long gun set-ups, is both impressive and very compact. However, because it is specifically designed to be weapon mounted and has virtually no spill or flood, it’s also not really an EDC style of light.
Imagine if you could shrink the ever popular Javelot Turbo down to a third of the size but still maintain a decent amount of beam distance? Well, Olight has just done this very thing! Introducing the Javelot Mini, a pocket-sized thrower. At only 4.53 inches in length, it is more than 55% shorter than the Javelot Turbo and about 62% lighter in weight. Despite its compact size, it still produces an awe-inspiring beam distance of nearly 2,000 feet!
Very Useful in a Variety of Situations
I have had the Javelot Mini for a few months now and I can honestly say this light is impressive for its size. It has been a great flashlight for camping as the beam distance is ideal for illuminating deep into the woods. And while the beam distance generated by this relatively small flashlight continues to amaze me, the amount of spill achieved by the LED is greatly appreciated, especially around the campsite and on trails. Unlike LEP technology, which is purely long distance and no flood, this Javelot mini uses an LED that produces a nice amount spill, illuminating the area directly around you. It is truly a nice balance of spot and flood. Because it is so small, it takes up virtually no room in a pack or bag, and the included holster enables one to always have it ready and available when needed. Bringing it on night-time hikes has been a pleasure as it can illuminate both the area immediately around me as well as a long distance down the trail or path.
This light is also great for law enforcement use as well as search and rescue applications. The tactical tail switch makes activating the light quick and easy, even in high stress situations. This long range EDC flashlight provides 1,000 lumens, it can easily blind or disorient anyone or anything with ill intentions. Thanks to the round LED, the spot is uniform, softer and more well balanced.
A Great Set of Features and Specs
The Javelot Mini is an impressive long-range light in a compact package that makes it great as an every-day-carry style of flashlight. The anti-slip knurling feels great and is very secure while holding it. It shares some of the tactical features you see on the Warrior X Turbo, like the dual-purpose tactical switch and the strike bezel. The tail switch provides both easy thumb activation as well as serving as the magnetic charging port for the 3.6V, 18500 rechargeable lithium ion battery.

Final Thoughts
The Javelot Mini is an awesome addition to the Olight line-up, providing fans with a pocket-sized flashlight that provides and amazingly long beam distance along with a nice mix of spill. It is perfectly suited for camping and hiking, and the tactical aspects of the light also make it great for law enforcement, as well as search and rescue applications.
It is fantastic to have this amount of throw is such a small and easy to carry package. With an all-aluminum body and an IPX8 waterproof rating, the Javelot Mini is built tough and can withstand anything you might throw at it. I highly recommend picking up this flashlight!

In addition to the EDC version of the Javelot Mini, Olight also released a tactical version - the Javelot Tac-P / Tac-M.
Javelot Tac-P/Tac-M is a long-throw compact WML built for long-range builds. This amazing light achieves 600 meters of throw and delivers up to 1,000 lumens with its round beam, suitable for law enforcement, hunting and self- defense.
