If someone had told me a year ago that I could have a flashlight with nearly 2,000 feet (600 meters) of throw, a maximum output of 1,000 lumens, and maximum runtime of almost 5 hours all in a package small enough to comfortably fit a pocket, I would not have believed them. Fast forward in time and Olight has done just that with the release of the Javelot Mini. Measuring a minuscule 4.53 inches long, it is less than half the length of the full-size Javelot Turbo and weighs only 5.43 ounces. The power to size is truly awe-inspiring and jaw-dropping each and every time you use it! When it was released late last year, Olight offered it in two colors, black and ODG as well as released two weapon-mounted options for both M-Lok and Picatinny set-ups. And now, Olight releases the Orange version with only 5000PCS.
Powerful, Yet Easy to Use
The user interface for the Javelot Mini is simple with only a tail switch and no side buttons or knobs. Using it is very intuitive as there’s no searching for switches or turning of knobs. Simply pull it from the included holster or out of a pocket and depress the tail switch with your thumb. Even in complete darkness, you should be able to quickly and easily activate the light. And, because the tail cap is magnetic, you can attach it to anything metallic for hands-free illumination. There are two basic settings, high (1,000 lumens) and low (200 lumens). Despite the simple UI, this light packs a powerful punch. The spot on it is very tight and uniform, even at a distance, which is due to Olight’s first ever round LED light source.
Classic Design
The textured grip design on the body provides a secure and comfortable grip. Similar to other tactical style lights in the Olight line-up, the Javelot Mini includes a strike bezel and a dual-purpose tail switch, providing both easy thumb activation as well as a magnetic charging port.
The classic styling and knurling make the Javelot Mini a very comfortable light to hold and use. Its relatively small size fits well in my hand and I can readily activate the tail switch with my thumb. Not only that, it looks great as well. Both the black and ODG colors are attractive, and now Olight is adding an orange version, #OTeamOrange rejoice! The orange color is an awesome addition.
Finally, the build quality is rock solid with an aluminum alloy body that has an IPX8 waterproof rating and a 1.5-meter drop test rating. This thing can truly take a beating and keep on working!
My Using Experience
Using it is pure joy. Having it with me on a recent camping trip enabled me to really see just how useful and fun this small light can be. I was able to see deep into the woods at night. And even though this has an insane amount of throw, there was still enough spill to illuminate the area immediately around me, which wasn’t true of the LEP lights I used, which are all thrown and has absolutely no spill. This light would be perfect for law enforcement as well as for use in search and rescue efforts. It really enables me to see things at relatively large distances away. On a night hike, I was able to pinpoint an object for my kids due to high nice and tight the spot was.

Final Thoughts
If you haven’t picked up a Javelot Mini yet, what are you waiting for? Seriously though, this is one of my favorite lights and each time I use it, it brings a smile to my face and makes everyone around ask, “What is that amazing light??” The addition of the beautiful orange version will compliment the existing black and ODG version nicely, giving most of us options. Don’t wait any longer to add this compact and powerful spotlight to your EDC rotation. You will not regret it. And now, you have a chance to get this flashlight at discount.
